Fall decorating does not have to be about orange, red and yellow. Let's face it, some of us do not like this color scheme -- including me. I am going to give you some tips and tricks to soften up your Fall decorating for a fresh, Boho look.
To me the Fall is all about nature, the earth and a coziness. Wine by the fire, strung lights, a vanilla sky. This is the time of year I love to decorate, even more than Christmas. One tip is to take your time. Start to take your stuff out and go through it. Put a little here and a little there over a few weekends. I always switch things around. When you have established what you have, a Home Goods trip is then in order.
Forge your elements from nature. One of my favorites is cut branches. I have a beautiful cherry tree in my backyard and some cut branches make a statement!
Eucalyptus and white pumpkins. The just go so well together!
My sunroom is all about cozy with lots of pillows and blankets! I spend a ton of time in this room in the Fall, reading and watching tv with a candle lit and the windows wide open.
A fall wreath is an absolute must.
I am not too much into the scary Halloween decorations but a cute, vintage picture works.
Twinkle lights!! Lots and lots of twinkle lights!!
Plants and pumpkins mixed together.
Cozy sweaters ready to go by the front door.
Little pumpkins all in a row.
Chalkboard art -- I change this out from season to season.
I did add some orange pumpkins to my kitchen. You have to break it up a bit.
Style your shelfs. Add glow candles and little pumpkins to what is already there.
Don't forget about hydrangeas. I bet you have some in your yard!
I didn't want a tv in my sunroom but my husband had to have one. I like to put a Fall scene from You-tube on in the background. They even have some with nature sounds.
I love a fantasy pumpkin from Trader Joe's but I won't put them in the house because I am afraid they rot rather quickly. Out near the zinnias is the perfect location.
Here is the full scene of my favorite room in the house.
I hope you all enjoy the Fall as much as I do. Get out into nature! Go forging, hiking, walking and then come home to your cozy house!
